I want to make a move on my friend but I'm afraid

Question - (18 May 2009) 2 Answers - (Newest, 18 May 2009)
A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am 25 y.o (i think bisexual) female - who has never even been kissed by a girl or a guy.

I am completely in love with my same sex best friend, and would like nothing more than to make a move on her, but am scared that I will scare her off. I do not want to lose her as a friend.

Any advice?

Who agony aunt“…overseas and communicating with her in a language I am still learning…”

Suggest you learn about the attitudes and acceptability of lesbian and bisexual women in her culture, society and religion before talking about or trying anything. Might want to find out if there is a gay community around.

After that, I would agree with the advice below “…you could explain to her that you feel you maybe Bi and that your developing feelings for women dont say her but just women in general…”

“…but i'm just generally not very good at opening up and expressing myself verbally…”

Do you ever watch movies or videos together? Might want to accidently arrange to watch one together with a lesbian/bisexual couple. You could talk about it afterwards and it might help break the ice on this topic, making it easier for you to express yourself.
