writes: himy GF of 1 year split up with me 4 months ago and then wanted to get back together 2 months ago. i didn't know if it was for the best and i needed time to think. i realised i loved her and wanted her back a couple of weeks ago but she said no. she has done things that means we can never be together again.she says she is spending time with this guy shes just met through a friend and says she isnt seeing him.Wots the difference? it hurts me so much and i feel so awful because i took too long to ask her back. i can see her house from my bedroom window and yesterday i saw this guy pull up outside her house.he saw me.i fell apart and asked her why she keeps hurting me so much and rubbing my nose in it.i dont know if she is doing it intentionally because she says she still cares for me and loves me still.i dont know what to do as i see her about all the time and have to walk past her house n stuff.it hurts so much any advice would helpthankyou

reader, anonymous, writes (8 August 2006): I think she loves you but not in the way you want. It is apparent she has moved on in her life and so must you.
You need to be out and about so you are not at home watching her every move.
You said yourself that she has done things that you cannot overcome and forgive her so why prolong the pain and anguish over "what could have been"?
Sounds like it's the time will heal all wounds bit as well as space...lots of space. Keep busy.
