Um, I think I might be developing an eatting disorder. . .

For a few weeks now, I got EXTREMELY upset at my sister. And she was about to kick me out the house, even though she was wrong. And I packed up all my stuff. I was so tired of her. And then I guess at the last minute [before I went back to school this week] she tells me to unpack my stuff. Any who. I was SO~ angry that whole time it started, I didn't want anything she made or anything to do with her. And when she made dinner, I wouldn't eat it. and so far. . . I haven't been eating a lot. I would sometimes skips days. Or I would eat little stuff, like those mini bagels, or cereal or Sweets. I'm still not eating a lot. I've lost a bit of weight. I just don't really feel like eating anymore. And Today, I had pizza, craisins [cranberry-raisin things.], and some Chinese food. Which for right now, is A lot. I hate Chinese food, but I was kinda hungry and my friend shared some. But now I feel SUPER DUPER sick. Like I'm gonna puke. But yeah. Lately I just don't FEEL like eating. My sister and my boyfriend are worried about me. I'm a bit worried too. `Cause when I was around 10, I had an eating disorder. I was bulimic. And my father and step mom would punish me because of it. [I'm so happy the court took me away! Cx] But yeah. I don't want anything like that to happen anymore. it was really bad back then. it's weird to see a 10 year old just skin and bone and not wanna eat. or had to be forced to eat.

If you have had an eating disorder before chances are you'll know if you are having one again. I've been bulimic for about 7 months now. I hate it. It started by me just not eating and in the end I had to eat, I was starving, after I felt so sick and fat. Also something you should take into consideration - do you eat because you are forcing yourself to, or because you want to? Even if you haven't been eating, is it a big deal when you do or do you not really care? Sometimes if you go through a stressful time in your life your appetite can decrease but even though you should still try to eat at least two resonable meals a day. I know I can't really say that coz unless its water or crackers I pretty much don't eat, or throw up everything that I do, but I really don't want anyone else to end up like I have. Its starting to get dangerous if your losing large amounts of weight or if your finding it hard to make yourself eat. Just keep your head up and try to eat abit more (:

Good luck! x

A reader, anonymous, writes (10 June 2009):

A loss of appetite does not represent bulimia or anorexia. Eating disorders like those are more than just the physicality of not eating, but also a state of mind of hating your body and not eating in order to keep weight off of it.

Also, the things you're eating when you do eat sound very fattening and therefor you do not seem too concerned about what goes inside of you.

Not to mention, people with eating disorders don't usually catch themselves at the beginning and wonder if they have it. They more deny and hide it so that they can continue getting away with it.

You have simply lost your appetite due to depression, preoccupation, medicine you're taking, who knows. Or maybe jsut a craving for attention.

Hope you find the root of it.
