A male United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend is asking me to go down on her and while I love going down, the problem is my current girlfriend has some serious odor issues going on. She showers twice a day and says she has been to a gyn about any possible infection. She tells me the gyn says that its all "normal". She has white discharge (not yeast infection type) all the time, and the other day, as best i can describe, it smelled like onions too! What could this be?

Overactive glands. Possible yeast infection and easily missed if the doc wasn't told. She probably needs antibiotics. Most people can't smell their own body odor so you can either live with it or find a nice way to let her know.It may hurt her feelings or make her angry and you will have to deal with that. You can also ask her to shave and use scented edible creams as foreplay to mask the scent.

Well, you said she's been to her gyn and that he/she said it was normal, so I'm not sure. I'm thinking it could be bacterial vaginosis, a common infection that most women will have at least once in their lives. It's just an unbalance of the good/bad bacteria down there, and it's usually cleared up by the end of your monthly period. If it doesn't go away, a simple prescription clears it up easily enough. I've had it, and I know many other girls who've had it also. Your gf might be embarrassed to bring it up with you, but who knows. I'll also add that I find shaving or waxing down there does away with a lot of odors that can happen otherwise, (this is just in my experience) and that if she doesn't already do either of those, maybe she'd be open to trying it and you could see if it's any better!
