A female reader, Polly Russell-Furse United Kingdom +, writes (26 July 2007):

Polly Russell-Furse agony auntIt can be so difficult to read boys and their feelings. You did not mention this boys age, but I'm gadging he is around your age which would mean that he doesn't want to be tied to just one girl. Boys always act differently in front of their friends, so although he may be interested in you when you're on your own together, he may not want to look soppy in front of his friends. Also, you do have to remember your friends feelings in this. How would you feel if it were the other way round and your friend started to go out with an old boyfriend of yours. You need to talk to her if you feel your feelings are strong and then to him. But all in all, just have fun he's probably going to be one in a line of boyfriends.
