I just want to be reassured the night I picked him up at the airport I wasn't an uncaring person as he made me believe. He was generally emotionally abusive.

I was just remembering how once I picked my ex fiance up at the airport (because he went on a 2 month vacation without me, but I saw him 3 times during it) and how I waited at a parking place so when he arrived he could just call me and I could drive up and pick him up.

Well, he got mad that I didn't walk into the airport to greet him or get him flowers. (I was sleeping in my car because it was late and I didn't have a place to pick him up flowers since I was coming from the play I was in, but I did think of getting him flowers since he mentioned it the day before and I knew he would be mad if I didn't).

Well, when he was walking to my car I wanted to get out to greet him but couldn't find the unlock button and it wasn't working. So, when I finally got out I walked up to him and asked how his flight was. We had been fighting over the phone earlier that day so I didn't feel comfortable I guess running up and hugging and kissing him. Well, he didn't let that go over very well. He told me to go back in my car and do it again correctly-kissing and hugging him. Was I a total mean girl not to go into the airport as far as it could take me to greet him with flowers? Or, would anyone be turned off by someone asking if you are going to bring flowers? I know I broke up with him because he was emotionally abusive, but I just want to be reassured that the night I picked him up at the airport I wasn't a total uncaring person. Would other people have done the same as me? I never intentionally meant to mess up or hurt him in anyway. Sometimes I just forget to be affectionate I guess.
