It sounds pretty clear that you want to be a doctor and have not enjoyed what you've learned about dentistry. Grab the chance to go to medical school!

The year you spent in dental school is not lost because you may have needed that experience to show you what it was like. Also, you're young and have many more years ahead.

Congratulations and good luck!

Hi

Dentistry is a medicine and plays a very important role in detecting oral cancers etc. The rewards are still there in this profession and dentists are very needed, so there would be no shortage of employment opportunities either.

However you wanted to pursue medicine as your first choice originally? Can you join your training in dentistry to med school and specialise in oral medicine? You can either follow your head or your dream, which one would you like to manifest and make your reality the choice is yours. Look at it this way, if you left dentistry to follow medicine could you pick dentistry up again should med school not work out? is this possible?

find the correct information. Think about what the reason behind your choice of career is? is it financial? is it status? is it job satisfaction? Do you want promotion opportunities? do you want to travel? the answer is within yourself! Maybe you can do both!

That answer is in you, it depends on what you really wish, because even if the careers are alike they are VERY different..so i'd think about it very carefully, and think if you feel comfortable in dentistry...Or if medicine is what you always wanted...
