Hi. I'm 16 and this is complicated.

I have been seeing my boyfriend quite a long time now, we're soon planning on moving in together, we love eachother and everything is fine.

On the 4 day of my period I had implanon put into my arm (the progesterone rod mean to protect against pregnancy) That was put in 6 days ago. I had sex with my boyfriend and didn't use a condom and he came inside me. Now I'm worried there is still a slight risk of pregnancy.

An ovum isn't realsed until 14 days later apparently but thats without the 'rod'...with it its not released but I'm still worried.

As much as we've talked about having children we know we're not in a stable home to bring a child into yet, we were planning to have kids at least after we turn 18 so we can expierience some nightlife.

The nurse said it takes only 24 hours for Implanon to go into effect, but is ther ANY chance I could be pregnant? I mean it as only put in a week ago...

Advice is welcomed. Thankyou.

im not trying to worry you but i have the rod in my arm..i had it done at a very high standard health centre and they told me not to have unprotected sex for 7 days until the rod had fully gone into effect..but i wouldnt worry it you were just a day out coz the rod would have gon into effect by then! they just say 7 days to be absolutly certain! but just to be on the safe side i would take a pregnancy test but it will probably be fine!

Hi I went to the clinic again and the nurse reinformed me (i got it wrong aparrently) that it took 7 days to go into a fact, now hters a risk i might be pregnant. I've been told to take a test in three weeks...

What should i tell ym boyfriend. Shall I let him know before or after taking the test. I'm worried of his reaction.

What shal I do, I'm pretty scared. He knows I was broody thats why i personally decided to get the implanon, I thought everything was ok. We didn't use comdoms and i went to the clinic today and was told about the 17 days

I just dont knwo what to tell him, i might be pregnant, or shall i just leave it and most likely the test will be negative...then he doesn't need to know, i dont want to worry him, hes under enough stress lately..

please i need advice. Thankyou x

If the nurse told you it was effective after 24 hours then I dont think you should worry. Its nice to hear that there are some resposible teenagers out there -so well done you for protecting yourself!

The implant is something I have being considering myself so I would be interested in what it was like having it put in, if you wouldnt mind PMing me?
