A female reader, twinkle +, writes (4 March 2006):

twinkle agony aunthi ema,

well, ive been in the same situation, and the new relationship with my ex's mate is still going and has been for about a year,if you go through tough times with somtimes if you love them keep working at it and if they love you to then all your work will pay off, you just have to give new relationships a bit of time, you can be friends with somone for years and get on with them great but if you take it that step further and start going out with each other then its totally different you start to feel like youve just met them and you have to build all that friendship back up again.

So if you loved this guy when you were going out with somone else and you got quite close as friends then getting in to a propper relationship can rock the boat a bit but if you give it time then it should go back to the way it was. good luck hope this helpes you :D
