I can imagine how frustrating this situation is for you. In order for a relationship to work, there has to be trust and communication.
This is just a shot in the dark, but could he be depressed? I've never been arrested, but I do know what jail is like because I've studied criminal justice. It is not a pleasant place... and quite depressing!
When people are depressed, they often lose interest in the stuff they used to enjoy... they don't wanna eat, they don't wanna have sex, they stop enjoying their hobbies.
Talk to him and ask him if something is bothering him. Tell him how you're feeling, and that you feel rejected and sad. If he loves you, he'll understand.
