Do what the first posts says. And remember that there are two ways to go about looking for a job. Saturate the market with resumes and send them out to everyone and doing anything. However this can spread you thin and I can only resommend this if it is getting unbearable. Occasionally something worth while and surprising can turn up like this.

Otherwise, send to a few, but focus on the ones you really want with follow up phone calls. Treat it like trying to get a date, you don't want to come off as needy and desperate, but you want them to know you're interested.

if you get an online degree your chances will increase. i know that will take time, but you'll have a lot more options. go get a dr. note and send it to your employer with a polite message "I will be back on --- , there is no need to contact me while I'm on leave" if this doesn't work, shut off the phone. They'll get the message. I also recently tried for a job I really wanted & felt qualified for. I took employee tests which I did great on, and I did great on the interview, but I never heard back. there is a lot of competition but don't give up.

TaylorChu agony auntFirst, nip the calls in the butt. If you have been to a doctor get a note saying you are sick and need REST. Work should not be calling you because you are off. Don't answer the phone or whatever. You earned your sick leave and that's it. If you are not well the job can't get done and the last time I checked your health is MORE important than any work and there is ALWAYS someone else who can do the work while you are gone.

Second, go to job websites like Monster.com and read their forums. People have gone through hell with previous employers and tell what they did to get to their next jobs. Read up and see what they did and what you can do.

Third, send your resume out to companies you are interested in working for. Human Resources keep resumes for a year or more in case openings occur. Start planting that resume.

Fourth, network or go to job fairs. This is one way to meet the company people and makes yourself shine and DIRECTLY get your resume into their hands.

Whatever you do, make sure when you leave the hell-job you are going into a new one within the next week or so. Do take a short break in-between but go from employer to employer with no major unemployment time in the gap. I wish you the best and get well soon. You have a great new job to seek out and enjoy!
