I didn't think I could bleed for so long! What's wrong with me?

i think there is something wrong with me, i am on the pill and have been for about 6 months now, me and my partner broke up about 4 months ago but i have been taking the pill still to control my periods more as they used to be heavy and last about a week. (ive been having periods since the age of 13) however in the past month my body has been acting very strange, i was taking the pill and taking the weeks break in between and my periods were fine. but now i have been on my period for 3 and 1/2 weeks. i stopped takin the pill about a week ago, however i am still on my period and im kinda worried. does any one know what might have caused this or what it is, whats happening to my body. i didnt think you could bleed so much for so long!

any comments would be appreciated,

You need to see a doctor, this is not normal and you shouldn't still be on yur period.
