 He is probably feeling insecure as you have, in his eyes, knocked him back. But you could just try to rearrange a meet up if you would like to see him again. If he is really keen then he will turn up, if not just don't worry too much - you did your best! He shouldn't expect you to drop everything at the last minute to see him - it is healthy to have other interests.

Can you trust this guy?If you can then tell him that you do want to go out with him but on a reasonable day.If he disagrees I suggest you find someone else.
