Sup Readers,

Just turned a teenager and as I'm a girl obviously I have developed quicker so hormones have kicked in quite soon. Well the thing is I'm feeling depressed. I have a little before but I didn't tell anyone and I helped myself get better, but this time it's worse and my friend can't help me. She's the same. She told her mum but I don't feel I want to tell anyone having anyone fuss over me, it annoys me.

Does anyone got any suggestions?

although yes it could be depression, it could just be bad hormones, so don't assume the worst. but still tell someone, incase what was pre-menstrual stress could turn into real depression. take care, Aunty Blossomx

aunty butterfly agony aunthello hunny,

One thing i must say is you have made one major step already...youv'e asked someone for help here..why can't you talk to your mother?i'm sure she wouldn't want her little girl asking anybody else but her first for help, after all, that's what your mum's there for...

But if you find you can't then may i suggest talking to a teacher at school?they are there to listen to their pupils too.

I understand that you and your friend have confided in each other but depression is not to be taken lightly it can carry on through til you are elderly if not diagnosed early on and should be recognised or treated by the right kind of people, your friend sounds like she has done the right thing by confiding in her mother, perhaps she might now get the help she needs...but you,you mustn't keep thinking you'll just get better by muddling through...please ask someone for some kind of help, even if it's just to listen to you...and remember your mum's there for you, but only if you'll let her be.

Good luck Aunty B xx
