Hi,

Stress at school can make things worse for you, and you could deal with that side of the problem using all the advice that martini has given.

Speaking from my experience at your age, and the experience of my friends, I think your changing hormones are causing a lot of your symptoms. Eating a balanced, healthy diet, with complex carbohydrates to even out your blood-sugar levels will be of some help. Things like wholemeal toast for breakfast etc etc... Don’t rely on sugary sweets, coffee and other drinks with caffeine in them too much. They tend to generate false ‘highs’, and then you get the ‘lows’ a bit later. I found that some kind of physical exercise also helped to even out the dips in my mood quite a lot.

Ah well, there you go. I know how difficult it can be in high school with all that stress flanking you from all sides. Hmmm... Rather than avoid all those issues, I suggest to strike up a weekly conversation with your grade counsellor. I don't know how your school system works there, but when I was in HS, I had access to a grade counsellor, whom I talked with on a weekly basis, and he helped me realize my goals and my interests and suggested paths I could take to reach them.

What you can also do is find another outlet that can help you balance or counter your stress. For me, school clubs wasn't my thing, but maybe it could be yours? Another thing is maybe extra cirricular activities outside of school like hiking and any outdoor sports that expose you to open spaces, the freedom to think and act on your own or with others, to stretch your body and your psyche outside of the 'prison' of high school politics.

Maybe you have already tbought about this, and maybe your strengths don't incorporate these areas, but breaking out of the mold can be a good thing.

Also, try a different set of foods. Feel-good foods, a new diet and exercise routine, etc?

How about impulsive trips or actions? Things that you do for yourself can be surprisingly refreshing. It will give you another point of interest to look forward to. Think of it as a reward for all the crap you go through at school.

As for your peers becoming hostile, try getting a mediating session with them with a counsellor or a senior high school student as the mediator.

What do you think?

This could be various things. Are you receiving stress at school or in another environment? Are your classmates bothering you? Maybe you're not getting enough sleep? It's also possible that you have early signs of depression. It's good to get yourself checked out. A lot of people don't get diagnosed with anything until their teens.
