A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Hi, after 6 months of no contact, my ex-bf and I are spending time together again. Just as friends. It's obvious he has feelings for me. I'm still very much in love with him. He still remains set that we shouldn't be together all though it's as clear as day he still has feelings for me. He actually even said as much.

I know I should walk away. I know I should. but I'm not ready to. So here is where I ask for help... Do I stay in his life and keep seeing him as a friend hoping the wound will open up enough to let me back into his life?

Or should I play distant? and hope that he comes to his senses on his own? remember, we already had 6 months of separation. He didnt get over me but didn't call me either.

I guess I'm asking, how do you deal with someone who obviously has feelings for you but doesn't want to pursue it? How best to get them to take that chance?

Pls don't tell me to walk away. I need suggestions on how to best deal with the situation that I'm in.

Thanks

Ok, I am in the same situation. I know how bad it hurts that you think that they do not think of you, and hope they are pinning over you. I know It has been 6 months for me too. I never really got the chance to just have closure. What i am doing is keeping my feelings to myself. If he treats u as if you dont matter, let him think he does not matter. It is not a game it is a healthy decision. If you tell him anymore, or contact him he will take advantage of that and it will be a neverending saga. Really put it in fates hands , and just hold your feelings to yourself, and eventually it will get easier. I am speaking from a broken heart, but the one thing i know is that if you cave in and chase him, he will do it agian and agian, and if you mean anything to him he will be in touch. Let him do the chasing if that is the case. A man wants that ! Trust me! Be strong.. I find it helpful to workout and meditate,.. that gives me my strength to keep walking away! I know it is easier said than done, but you will be ok. If it is meant to be it will..be! Let him go-:)

This is verified as being by the original poster of the question

yes, I've told him as such and he immediately shut me down. I'm not even allowed to bring the topic to the table. It's like he has blinders on or runs away with his hands over his ears if I try to talk about it. It's almost like a denial thing. that's exactly what it's like. he won't talk about it but showed me a note I had written him a year ago that he said he carries around with him in his wallet everywhere he goes.

Have you reached out to him? Have you called him and told him this?
