He wants to do things for you and when with you doesn't want to leave. He demonstrates loyalty through protectiveness towards you. If he is a creative soul, you will begin receiving songs or poems written for you. He talks about a future together. Basically the operative gesture to look for is he wants to 'DO' things for you and to you.

 I would echo the other answer and only add that you are best judging that by what he does, not what he says because sometimes the two things can be unrelated. In general, does he put you before himself...does he try and be kind to you even if hes having a bad day...that kind of thing..

reader, anonymous, writes (29 October 2006): That is a tough one, but I think you would know mostly by the way he behaves towards you. Is he kind and considerate and puts your needs ahead of his own. Have you met his friends, has he met yours? Does he introduce you as his girlfriend (not a friend), does he see only you exclusively. Does he want to spend his time with you, and take you places and do things that you both enjoy. Does he share his vision of the futhre with you. Does he look in your eyes when he is close to you. Does he make love to you rather than just have sex only. Does he smile alot when he is with you. Does he say I love you? Does he turn down his guy friends to be wtih you....and so many more.....does he talk about futhre plans that include you.
