How do you deal with a friend in a bad situation?

A female age 36-40, *egasus1028 writes:

One of my best friends is being really stupid with a guy she was sleeping with. He dumped her (sort of, she found out on facebook when he started dating someone else)and now is stringing her a long. After the first time i heard she was sleeping with him, I constantly told to her get on birth control and get tested for STDs. After 8 months she finally went to the doctor (and told him she didn't need an STD test). Well during her exam they did in fact find out she had contracted trichomoniasis. This guy is still keeping her around (always telling her he and his girlfriend are going to break up, and that his girlfriend is a bitch blah blah blah). I don't know why she is still hanging out with such a loser! She even says stupid things like "In some ways the STD made us closer friends." What am I suppose to do with stupid comments like that?
