I really love her an she loves me but I have 2 problems. The first is the age gap and secondly is that I want her to actually have a good time and go out with her friends, like I did, as she has just started her 1st year at university and I'm in my 4th.

The age gap shouldn't really be a problem if you really love her. If sh elied to you about her age, it might be more of a trust issue than an age thing..
Try to figure out what she means to you BEFORE you tell her anything. You are most likely to lose her if you tell her that you need more time apart or something similar.. So be smart and figure out what you want her to do - having a good time with friends? Why shouldn't you join in.. I doubt that you want her to get more experience, but in that case you should let her go asap..
