rcn agony auntI agree with the other poster. Find a support network so people help others, and be there for eachother. From my end, I want you to look at your children and keep telling yourself you're going to change your behavior because you love your children.

Take it slow. No one expects you to heal overnight. I want you to do as much research on the internet as you can stand looking up recipies and good things to eat that still satisfy your need for low calories.

When you make a dish, tell yourself every bit, I eat this bite because this is what's healthy. I enjoy eating this, and it's OK to enjoy food and not feel guilt.

What this will do by giving positive feedback over and over again is it changes the direction of though. Tricks your mind so to speak, until you can make this a habiit.

I also want you to think, 4 years ago, what events led up to this behavior. If there was something that happened to cause this poor behavior, confronting and dealing with the issue will begin to eliminate the effect.

Just remember by continuing this, every time you throw up, all the nutrition that's vital for survival goes down the toilet too. I'd contact a nutritionist as well to recommend maybe a dose of a nutritional supplement as well to assist you as you conquer this disease.

Good luck and take care.

Hello Hun, as a former bullimic i know how hard it is to recover. I was lucky i found a friend who suffered too we acted as a support net for each other and have kept in contact since. I was bullimic for 8 years before i took charge of it and stopped, it had become second nature for me i would eat manically after collage and then make myself ill. After meeting with a counceler i found out that the stress of constantly studying was making me ill. it was the only way i could feel in control. I saw a conseler during my recovery and we still meet up for coffee and a chat. My advice would be to go an see your gp who will refer you to a specialist who will be able to help you physically and could give you the number of a local support group and a counseler. I found that hypnotheraphy helped me and also meeting with a dietician to get me eating propely. Good Luck and remember you can recover and lead a completly normal life. I am now a junior doctor, i got married summer 2006 and now have twins (a boy and a girl) All my love G..x
