The only thing I have to add to Flower Girl's response: Don't wait around, you can't wait for someone. Move on and in the future if something happens between you to, then it happens. He seems pretty set in his decision. Of course you could plead your case and make it really convincing, but imagine on other relationships you are missing out on by waiting for something that might not happen.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 August 2007): You can't force someone to ask you out or make them fall in love with you, it just doesn't work like that no matter how much you want them to. You must have such a great friendship with him otherwise he wouldn't be worried about ruining it. Like flower girl said, stay friends with him and possibly one day he might fall for you. But in the meantime you don't have to not get involved with other guys. You are young. Go out, have fun, enjoy life and don't worry about whether this guys likes you in that way or not.

 Unfortunately darling there is no way on this earth you can make someone fall in love with you, you are young babe so try not to worry about this too much, you will meet the right person for you at some point.
Just carry on doing what you are doing and be his friend and you never know maybe one day he will change his mind.
