 It's only weird if you think it's weird and end up acting weird. The idea of weird is an interpretation of the event, which means that you put the label "weird" onto the event. If you think it's fine and act like it's perfectly fine then he'll be fine with it.
Go up, say something like "H, what's up?" and just talk to him like any other person.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2007): start having small conversations like saying "hi" "how are you" in the hallways and eventually it may lead to more conversations and eventually a freindship and possibly more.
