 You can tell by the way he acts around you, by the way he talks to you, treats you. If he truly loves you he will make you feel like the most special person in the world, his eyes will light up when ever he see's you, and he will want to be with all the time.

 Hey,
I dont think there's anything you could look for specificly for proof, except how he is around you and when there are other people there too.
If he treats you badly when his friends are around for example but good hwne it is just you and him, then you cant exactly call that love can you?
I'm sure he is very fond of you.
