A female reader, Evangeline  United Kingdom +, writes (23 December 2006):

Evangeline agony auntTo be honest the only thing you can do is simply sit it out. Even if you come to the end of a bad relationship with someone your glad you dont have to see any more - it is still perfectly normal to still feel attached to them or that you think about her all the time.

Some people find moving on easier than others, but the general rule tends to be that you have to 'sit it out' for a while. Try to make it less confusing and easier to do by concentrating on other activities and keeping yourslef busy, e.g going out with friends, focusing on school/college work etc.

You must remember that you will forget about her and that you will meet someone else wonderful who will make you happy - the forgetting and moving on may just take a little longer than you think and not be quite what you expect.
