 If your mother knows that you approve of the potential relationship, that may be a big key. Either one of them could be holding back because they're afraid of the affect it will have on you. It could also be that they are afraid of him losing your job.. or that they just don't see each other the samy way you see them as.
She may think he's cute but there a ton of cute guys walkin around. He has to be the right guy for her, and you should consider whether or not she is seeing him in the same light as you are.
