 If he feels that strongly for your friend, then I don't think there's much you can do. It doesn't matter if she's not interested in him; he still fancies her. I think if you tried to approach him he would probably see it as an opportunity to get closer to your friend, rather than take genuine interest in you. If you want him to notice you then someone needs to let him know that you fancy him. If someone's aware that they have an admirer they normally tend to pay that person more attention.
But remember, you can't force anyone to like you. People can't control who they're attracted to. If you do become closer to him, be careful that you're not a last resort after your friend. That would be unfair on you. If he still fancies your friend after a while, then maybe you should let it go. You deserve someone who wants you and no one else, even if you fancy them.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 August 2010): You cant really "make" a guy like you [unless you pretend to be someone else, which you shouldnt do]. But I suggest talking to him, ask him questions about what he likes to do and stuff like that. It might work and it might not, but I wish you the best of luck.:]
