writes:Hey guys im kind of new at this thing but i really need an outside perspective. I am a 16 year girl who's in love with a 22yr guy. We met online, never met, but we've been talking for 3 months +. Obviously he doesn't know my real age, he thinks I'm also 22. We at the point where I want to end things without hurting him. He's such a sweet guy, and I really can't bare hurting. Whenevr I try to breakup with him, he lures me bac', saying he'll wait for me. And that I'm honestly his ideal girl. I just want to end things, before it gets too for. I only started chatting with for just fun. Everything changed when he told me he was in love with me. Didn't expect everything to get soo far and so quick. How can I break his heart in a nice way? If that's even possible. And thanks for your Opinions.

reader, anonymous, writes (1 November 2010): Just tell him "It was fun to chat and you've enjoyed his company online but now enough is enough and you don't want anymore contact" Tell him you hope he finds someone he can love and get to know not just over the internet and then block all forms of contact. Thats what I would do.

You can't do that. You just have to break it quickly and get it over and done with. Take him to a public place, explain that he's a lovely guy, but explain that you're not the girl for him and move on from him. Then block contact.

 You can't. But make it a clean break, as in once you've told him its over and given him a bit of closure perhaps- no more contact. Delete his contact details, block all lines of contact. Be firm, don't give him false hope and don't buckle in to anything he says to try to keep you.
That is the nicest way you can do it.
