 It is like you go window shopping in those malls and you see a cute doggie and must want to buy and take it home but somebody already bought it.You are disappointed and heart broken. That is life. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

 Put it this way: if you hurt now, think how much you would hurt if you were with someone who does not love you!
Remember, getting married is a big step, so he obviously loves his fiancee. If he left her for you, you would eventually worry he will do the same to you.
Use this time in your life to gather experience, accepting that some flames burn for longer as memories. Hurting a little helps you to grow as a person, learn to love yourself and make you stronger, and therefore more attractive to a potential life partner.
If you love him, you will let him go. Be happy for him!
