What would you all make of a guy who breaks up with a girl after a year of dating but continues to want to spend all his time with her? He says he’s in love with her, and he’s not interested in dating anyone else. He calls to ask her to go to parties with him and makes it very clear that he’s politely turning down all the girls who hit on him. He occasionally talks about wanting to get back together.

Does this make sense to anyone? If a guy doesn’t want to be in a relationship anymore, why doesn’t he just get out of it? What could drive someone to want to break up with someone they actually loved, but still continue to spend all of their free time with that person?
