It sounds like there might be the possibility of getting back together but you have to think to yourself if it's really worth it. Sometimes we think relationships are great while we're in them, but with some space we can see them for what they actually are. If you can evaluate your relationship and see no reason to not try again, you should talk to him about it. If there were underlying issues that caused the breakup, then you should tell him you're moving on.
