Has Anyone heard from the poster of LOLITA SYNDROME? I'm concerned! I had hoped she'd get back to us.

But now, I have to admit that I am wondering if it was a bogus question...I usually don't have a suspicious nature, but something is making me wonder...what do the rest of you think???

I am still worrying that it was real and wondering why she hasn't gotten back to us.

Hey! Thanks for your responses. I was hoping to read one that said "yeah, I heard from her and she's okay" but I guess we will have to wait and see. Thanks for your concern about me too! I think I have felt the feeling of togetherness from the first time I discovered this site...and a day hasn't gone by sense then that I haven't logged on!

It's a special place!

PS: I don't think she was fake, something about her words made me think that she is a very young girl. That's why I was trying to be very careful not to frighten her. Words like pedophile, pervert and such like are scary to some kids and can make them run and not return to tell us what's going on. Be gentle with the kids, not all of them know the evil that goes on in the world...

Hi Britt,

I know who you mean.... but we do get a lot of upsetting posts here, and there is nothing we can do if they don't come back.

http://www.dearcupid.org/question/what-is-lolita-syndrome.html

We've had young girls in trouble before, and we can never be sure if they are telling the truth or not. I remember when I first started here, there was a girl being stalked at home by some guy she met online. We kept in touch for a while and suddenly she disappeared. That girl worries me even know.

We have no idea if they are telling the truth or not, we just have to hope that they are, and give them the best advice based on that. We do have some successes on Dear Cupid. I was in contact with a girl with a pervert teacher who realised that he was a creep and told the other girls in school to be very careful... She has our address and she knows that we care. She may have decided to write to an agony aunt personally, and due to confidentiality, they will keep her secrets for her.

Usually people write, but they don't come back and update. She knows we're concerned and she knows why. Wait a week or so and update her post, asking if she's alright and OK, and then a least she knows we care and she's not alone. I've spent months writing to people and bothering them until I get a response, to make sure their alright. That's all that we can do.

PS: If you get distressed by certain letters, please contact any of the regular aunts on board. Things can get to you sometimes, so get in touch and make friends with any of us... You can find some of the regular aunts hanging out and having fun in the forum.... Take care babes, and try not to worry, she knows they we are worried and we care....

I saw that and something stuck me a fake about it too. But you never know so I think it's best to warn her in case it is real.
