"down below" problems

Question - (11 January 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 15 March 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I'm really worried about "down below"...

I thought I had thrush, and in the past 6 months have used a thrush treatment twice...Both of which did nothing to shift my symptoms.

I KNOW the best thing to do is go to my doctor, which I did, and she dismissed it as nothing. So now I feel I have the mindset that I'm making a fuss over nothing.

But I'm really worried.

Please excuse me if I make you cringe.

I have a lot of discharge, it smells vinegar-like. I always feel really wet (this is very uncommon for me, I used to have very little discharge). It's really uncomfortable. Sometimes I'm itchy or sore. Sometimes it burns when I pee. But not all the time.

I don't know if it might be related to the contraceptive injection, the last one I had was January 2008, and I haven't started my periods since.

But it could be related to my ex, we had sex and the condom came off inside me, I took the morning after pill just to be on the safe side. But I remember having changes in discharge etc before this happened.

Please give any advice or information if you can...

I did end up going to my doctor, had a vaginal swap done and also one for chlamydia just in case, both clear, just my body's hormones going back to normal after coming off the contraceptive injection, all has returned to normal now :)

it may be worthwhile going to get tested for STD'S, to be on the safe side, if it is then its only a short course of antibiotics.it could also be a urine infection as you say it burns when you wee. you could try drinking cranberry juice, its a natural antiseptic and does work, have to give it a good week to work and drink it regularly through the day. hope this helps

I should also add that sometimes I feel like I have to pee but then I don't, like a urine infection. I was tested for a urine infection a while back and they said I was all clear.

It makes me really worried that something is really wrong with me :(
