I take the pill and my boyfriend and I have used the condoms and the pill. but now we want to just use the pill.

my boyfriend lives in another country where the time difference is only on hour ahead. and i take my pill in the morning. normally as soon as I wake up.

anyway here are the two questions

Does taking the pill at different times depending on when I wake up, affect it?

does taking the pill in a time difference in another country affect the pill and my body and make it more of a chance to become pregnant?

If you are on the combined pill, so long as you take it around the same time each day, that will be fine. You can take it as much as 12 hours late and it won't affect the contraception. As far as I understand, it is most effective when taken at the same time each day. What I've done is to put an alarm on my mobile phone each day at the time when I take the pill and when I go abroad, I don't change the time on the phone, so I continue to take it at exactly the same time.

penta agony auntSo are you moving to his country, or are you visiting? It's supposed to be taken at the same time every day. If you're moving, you could just start the next month at the new time and no worries. If you're visiting, it might be a good idea to figure out what the time difference is and keep it there in the short run.

If you're going to continue living separately, you may be safer if you continue to use condoms. The pill doesn't protect against STDs. He's probably not seeing someone else while you're not there, but it could happen. Until you're in the same time zone, it might be safer to continue to use both methods.
