I think that's the way our body and brain is designed. It's our instinct. We don't have much control over that. A man who makes love slowly and steadily is either a rare jewel, or not turned-on enough!
If you want a 1 hour sex, plan for 50 minutes of foreplay, and 10 minutes of intercourse . Make him enjoy foreplay as much as you do, or he will lose erection(and interest).

I enjoy both - just depends on the mood. My gf is the same way - sometimes she wants to be sensual and sometimes she wants to be naughty...
Sometimes the frequency has a bit to do with it too... Like if we haven't been together in awhile, the mood is more agressive and less sensual (from both of us, not just me)... But a couple hours later (or next morning or whatever), it's the exact opposite.
But to answer your question, yes some men enjoy the sensual side of love making (at least I do)...

 Personally it depends on the mood, I love the close intimacy of slow sex, and that builds a much stronger bond. But on the flip side, I also like the opposite. Fortunately, my girlfriend is the exact same, we both like both, so it just comes down to what sort of mood we're in.
