We've been friends for a good while and he's a great guy, but the one thing I've noticed people ask me a lot is, "Uh..what could this man possibly see in a little teeny bopper? Why was he even friends with you before you were 18? That's just weird."

I won't say I'm more mature for my age, because I'm probably not. And I won't say he's immature for his age. I don't know how it happened. We just clicked with our personalities.

Is it really that disturbing that he'd be interested in me? He's completely the opposite of a "creepy older man" and I don't want people to think that way about him.

My friends love him too. Even some people in my family were trying to set us up. The only people who seem to have a problem with it are the people who don't know us.

So tell me honestly, does it creep you out or make you uncomfortable that a 25 year old guy would date or be friends with a teenie?

No i dont think there is nothing wrong with it. because iam 17 and a 22 year old and I are just crazy about each other and he wants to be with me and i love him and he loves me back and we talk about our future all the time and its wonderful! age does not really matter as long as you trust him or her and that it does not get too out of hand.

Age doesn't matter. My ex was eight years older than me. It wasn't anything to do with age that broke us up. We were completely wrong for each other from the start and age wouldn't of altered that. You won't notice the age gap as you get older. I think it is great. Enjoy life and the experience he can bring into all aspects of your relationship. Best wishes xx

Not at all, you sound an especially articulate 18yr old girl, don't waste your time questioning the age thing. A more important quality in a relationship is love, or at least respect.

If someone loves you or respects you it does not matter what their age is.

You will encounter some issues that will be related to the age difference. But relationships always hit some kind of issues from time to time. If you're with the right person you get through them, if not, you argue and eventually break up. Don't let 7 years difference have any weight against your relationship. He could be the perfect person for you, you never know!

Have a great relationship :)

Wow, thanks for responding so quick!

Young Aunty--I actually hadn't thought much longterm with him. If it happens that way, then it's fantastic. We've actually discussed marriage & kids (just our ideas about it in general) and he said he doesn't want kids until he's in his 30s, which works out well because I always pictured myself with kids at around 24 or 25.

Regardless of any of that, I know that what I want is to finish college before I settle down with a family. If things work out with him in the future (crossing my fingers) then at least I know we're pretty much on the same page.

No, but this could be because when I was 19 I met and dated a 29 year old.

I am now forty five and he is fifty five, we are still married and in love.

Personally I find that 7 years is a tiny age gap, especially when you're adults. An eighteen year old may be young, but who's to say that a guy in his twenties can't be on the same level as you?

Just enjoy what ya have deary.
