Do men like to be chased?

Do men like to be chased?

Myself and this guy at work got on well - I was madly falling for him and kept smiling at him so he would know I felt! - Eventually I gave him my number (so in effect did all the chasing).

However, since then he has only called when he wants something and now I feel like a bit of a doormat!

So the question is - would he treat me differently if I played harder to get or do men like to be chased?

...yes indeed - treat him like a firework. Light the fuse (i.e. engage his interest) and then retreat and watch the sparks fly (i.e. let him come on to you). Another analogy: boxers usually move in for a quick jab and then retreat. Another analogy: artists usually paint a little on the canvass and then retreat to see the perspective. You get the "picture"! Just like a game of "it" in the playground at school. You tag him first and then it's his turn to come to you. If you don't let him chase you and you just keep tagging him then he will get bored because there's no joy in just standing there being tagged all day! He wants a challenge - the bigger the challenge the greater the reward! That's the general theme. Another analogy: don't come on too strong. Give him a few gold coins (i.e. subtly register your interest) so that he can go to your 'bank' and cash them in to be with you. If you give him a gold bar (i.e. come on too strong) then he will find this too heavy to take to your bank to cash in (in which case you will have scared him off!). Good luck! Yours, Fifthquadrant.
