writes:I just met this guy through friends at work so I went hang out some friends house where I met this guy we talked some when I left that evening he asked for a hug. Do guys usually hug a girl he just met? We met up again had dinner with friends he sat next to me and we talked even his friends were there but he talked more with me. He likes to joke and tease me and he smiles back when I laugh at his jokes. He is really sweet also like I was sick one day the next day when I seen him again he ask if I was feeling better. He had to leave but said I will be back so he asked me for a hug goodbye and he placed his hands on my lower back did hold me closer they were not very long his friends were around. Do you think he is just being friendly or does he want something more.

 My only advice to you is enjoy all of to your comfort level. If you feel uncomfortable pull away politely.
He will probably amp up his game over time if he is indeed interested. If you are responding positively - you will tell him you are interested as well.
He seems from what you describe very polite about it all. If you find this guy attractive, spend some more time with him.

Most of the men I have met are too shy move quickly takes them months before they will hug me. I am comfortable around this new guy I do not mind him wanting to hug me. I like that he is confident. I know he may want my body but that is the physical part. I think he likes me more than just my body. He would have already made sex advances towards me which he has not.

 By the way he placed his hands it seems like he wants something more. It seems he is very interested in you by his behavior. :)

It sounds as though you are on his radar screen considering the other evidences you describe.
contact with the lower back is a sign that he is interested - most friendly hugs are around the upper back or shoulders.
When you and he go out again let us know what else happens.
