 You could get him cd's, or a dvd or a book on sports if he is into sport?
You could also think about getting tickets to go see a film of his choice and go for something to eat afterwards sometimes it is nice to have something completely different to have if you don't fancy that idea what about tickets to a soccer game? or a concert ?
Try and quiz him beforehand and find out what he is in too you may well get all the ideas from just asking him this good luck.
