A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (18 March 2009):

There is a song about it.

It means running around following a trail that leads no where.

If you keep following a pavement where will you go? No where as it just leads round in circles.

It means you are wasting your time.

I hate that song by the way.

Good Luck!! xx

English term or phrase: Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements?

English translation: Should I give up or (should I) keep going?

It could also mean: walk around aimlessly.
