Can't I just be casual?

A female United States age 36-40, *ennieGeek writes:

So, with my first and only question I encountered a lot of people who didn't believe my intentions (that I just want fun, didn't say what they thought about what the guy actually said (or rather typed), and then told me that what he said was a lie when I know for a FACT it's true.

And then they give me some crap about how I should stop waiting around that I'll miss other guys. I'm not waiting around, I live in a tiny town, and am without a car at the moment, and there aren't any men around here! I wanted some fun that I could just send back home to another state.

Why is it that people don't seem to understand clearly the situation and what I want? Isn't it ok for a girl to just want a little casual fun without a relationship?

The Realist agony auntI would say that it is perfectly fine for a girl to want that. Guys go after the casual relationship all the time and no one says anything so I there is no reason that a girl can't do the same thing. Everyone wants some fun and excitement in their lives.
