A female reader, YummyMummy United Kingdom +, writes (15 June 2007):

YummyMummy agony auntI think it can, but not if how the person looks repulses you. I was attracted to my partners personality first as we spoke a lot over wap and over the phone but didn't swap pictures for a long time. I wasn't swept away with my partner's looks when we first met, and I'm not much of a looker either but it didn't take long for the phsical attraction to kick in along with me being crazy about his personality.

A reader, anonymous, writes (15 June 2007):

Certainly Yes.

But never lie to yourself. If you know his physical side could deter you from loving him; it would be best to let him find someone who will love him for who he is.

There are many relationships based soley on personality, and in my opinion, I think that these are the strongest and most colourful marriages.

Good luck.
