Guys who have been away from loved ones - either in prison or the forces:- When men write letters to their loved ones (for example girlfriends or female friends) - do they show their true feelings or are they just wanting company from pen friends?

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (2 May 2009):

Yep.

My hubbie is in the army and always says that even if he has proper email access... it's ALWAYS best to get letters.

If you suspect you are being played then stop writing!

Either that or just stay as penpals and get a boyfriend.

Good Luck!! xx

A female reader, anonymous, writes (2 May 2009):

Yes they can, one wrote to me for months and months from a dating site and never wanted to meet, just wanted someone to write to.

That doesn't mean that whoever you have in mind is the same, so I suggest you do what I did, bring it all out into the open so that you can stop wasting your time - if you think that is what you are doing.

People are individuals - you might get a nice surprise!
