It's a very fine line, basically, don't try and be 'Mum', don't interfere if your husband to be has 'issues' with his ex over the child but you must ensure that the child respects you as a person and understands that there are rules that exist in your home too.

 just try to be sweet and respectfulits hard for a kid to find his dad with someone who is not his mom.so dont ever try to be or look like his mom.just be cool, maybe he cand find in you like a escape, like the great step mother who understands everything better.try to be comprehensive
