A few questions on shaving 'down there'...

A age 16-17, anonymous writes:

Hey I've just shaved for the first time 'down there'.

I got a few pretty painful red bumps, how can I get them to go?

I'm planning on waxing soon to get a more smooth finish, will this hurt really bad even though the hairs arent very long at all?

How long will it take for the hair to turn more course if I ever let it grow naturally again? Now I've shaved this once, will the hair just be horrible now?

Are in-grown hairs common? Can they get infected? Would I need to see a doctor? I'd die if I had to!

Thank you all so much, any comments most welcome.

I'm still really scared I'm gonna make a mistake by shaving though. I'm scared that if I don't like it, I'll let it grow and it'll be all horrible and rough.

Has anyone shaved and regretted it? Or is it perfectly fine, without many side-affects?

siobhankay agony aunti get these red luumps after shaving.. i find using a mosturizer or cream straight after a bath or shower in which ive shaved helps to calm them down.. it stops them from been soar and makes them less red. not really a way of getting rid of them completely though.

waxing is a BIG no. It will hurt no matter how long/short the hairs are, unless you have a seriously high pain threshold or a porn star that is constantly having her bits on show.

The red bumps will happen if you wax, shave, epilate or even use depilatory creams. They're the hair follicles that are in pain of haveing a hair ripped out. If you let it grow naturally it won't grow course unless you keep removing the hair for years. Just once will do nothing to the texture of the hair.

In grown hairs are common. They can get infected but you don't have to see a doctor. Just poke an infected in greown hair that looks like a sopot with a pin and squeeze it until all the pus is out. It will hurt and bleed but if you leave it then you will have to see a doc and they will have to remove them. Embarresment city.
