You don't - that's just the fun of dating.

However, if you get the feeling you are just another girl then there is nothing wrong with telling him you aren't happy and want to split up. "I just get the feeling I'm one more girl to you and I'm actually looking for something meaningful."

If he says "Fair enough, no hard feelings and good luck with that!" then you know and can meet a new guy.

If he tells you that you are special and starts making more effort then problem solved.

Why let him have the final say in where your relationship is heading? Take control!
