writes: I have brown eyes, and something about me just hates it!They look pretty on other people, but I have always wanted light colored eyes, so I wear contacts all the time. But now I wonder if I find some one are they going to be really disappointed once the look up close and realize I'm not as pretty as I make myself out to be, that I am actually quite plain. Is it wrong to change you eye color to look more attractive? Reply to this Question

Yes it's not so good.. if you wear colored lenses..someone might like you that way..and eventually you will have to take them away..and it might come in as a shock.. eye color can change ur face and everything..

I don't think you need a change of eye colour, I think you need a change of attitude.
Eye colour doesn't make a person attractive.
A person makes their eye colour attractive.

I personally find it disappointing when a guy has contacts of a different color in because one of the key traits I look for is light eyes. You should just rock your eyes the way they are and not try to manipulate anyone by changing the evolutionary psychology.

"Wrong" is a strong word. Tons of people wear different colored contacts. Some for fun, some because they think it looks better. All though I've never seen you before, I'll bet you're pretty with blue eyes, green eyes or brown eyes. I don't think brown eyes are "plain" at all... I've got brown eyes, and I think they're quite fetching. Brown is a rich color.
I don't think anyone would be dissapointed if they got to know you and later discovered you wore contacts. It's kind of cool... a surprise! And anyhow, if you begin dating someone, they'll like you for your outside, not something as trivial as eye color.
I think the only thing "wrong" here is that you think the only way you can be pretty is with different color eyes... but, if you love the way you look with blue eyes, go for it. People dye their hair, right? That's not wrong at all... I know tons of people who are secretly brunettes, but have lived most of their lives as blondes.
So girl. you like your contacts? Keep 'em in. Brown is beautiful too, but there's nothing wrong with a little switcheroo!

I mean, I know a girl who uses colored contacts to change her eye color, and for her it's a way to express herself, but really in the end her natural eye color is the best.
I think you should learn to love yourself, because chances are, your eyes _are_ pretty. If you feel the need to hide behind different colored eyes to meet some societal standard, then do so, but realize you're trying to live up to expectations that dont' really exist, and are hiding yourself when your eyes are likely great.
