 I don't understand why males like to say that we women go through pms and then act in a way that, based on their definition of being moody-they suffer the same event as well.
Tell him to define space. To me it says he may want a day or two for himself to recharge. We women need it as well but go about it differently.
Read a book from John Gray titled Men are from Mars and Women are From Venus. It explains the two separate natures of men and women and how we process events differently.
It will help you gain some insight and teach you how to speak Martian.
