Where can I meet potential suitors?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

How do you meet guys?

I've dated before and I've had "casual encounters" before, but I want to know the normal way to meet a good guy that I can be in a long lasting relationship with.

The guys I've dated I all either met at parties or online (NOT on dating sites, strangely enough), and those relationships never fail to disappoint me. The people I've casually met for a night of fun were people I literally met walking around or at more parties.

I think 19 is too young for dating sites. And the guys at my college don't appeal to me for anything other than those casual encounters because I tend to click with guys that are at least five years older than me (I've dated or befriended guys ranging from 6-17 years older than me).

All I want is something serious, but I really don't know where to find it.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (4 March 2012):

There are plenty of mature guys your own age. Tons of them who are single and not getting paid much female attention, in fact.

But the problem is that with guys, there is nothing sexy about being mature at 18-21. It's only sexy for them to be immature at this age. Once they are a few years older then their age alone (and the couple years extra practice polishing their game) will make them seem more sexy. THEN their maturity - which was already there all along - will suddenly seem sexy to girls when it was boring just a few years earlier.

Well me & my boyfriend met while he was out with his friend & I was with mine, we spoke for 10 minutes 3 days later we're together & it's been over a yeay

Don't give up, you'll find someone special

Online is Not a good idea in the slightest, I'm sure there's no chances of finding a decent guy through that

Just wait til you meet someone, it can end up being the happiest you've ever been,
