writes:I walk around thinking that all guys will be attracted to me, but once I make eye contact they laugh at me. What could be so wrong with me that guys including cute ones would laugh? Are you dressing inappropriately for your age? Maybe you feel younger than 36-40 and you dress/act that way? If you're in your late 30's you're not going to still be model material if you ever once were. I don't really know but it sounds to me like you have the wrong impression of yourself & the way others see you. You walk around thinking all guys are going to be attracted to you? That isn't even possible for all guys to be attracted to you so maybe you think too highly of your looks.

reader, anonymous, writes (1 September 2007): Why don't you just casually ask them right then and there what is so funny. Even if you weren't a model and you were say "ugly," in their opinion, it is not customary for people to laugh at you no matter what you look like.
It might be pure coincidence. Or maybe you had something funny on your face? Like a booger? Even so people don't usually laugh at you unless they know you.
Maybe you said something funny? And that's why? And you just happened to look at him right when the "joke" hit him.
Anything's possible but it is HIGHLY unlikely that they are laughing at you because of your appearance. And not just because you are a model. This is customary, no matter what you look like.
