Its about loving someone so much they should know you love them even if you don't get them anything. But if you do want to get us guys something i would suggest a REALLY cute teddy or chocolate or even just a really nice card thats really all we need to know that you love us.

My boyfriend and i have been dating for almost a year now February 13th we'll be. But i was thinking of making him something instead of buying. He'll appreciate it a lot more since it comes from the heart. Maybe you should try something like make a card, A dvd slideshow (of pictures and such) and maybe make him a cake or dinner?Ps. Happy Valentines Day to you two

I mean, we havent been dating that long, and i'm not a big fan of valentines day. Anyways, i have a great idea of what to do for him. I am going to take a picture of us, and make it a little bigger. i am going to get a frame thats a size or two bigger then the picture, and as the border, there is going to be quotes from all of our favorite songs. Its very sentimental, and i think thats whats best on Valentines day. :)

You don't talk to each other at all, except on the phone?! It sounds like you two need to arrange a special date in the near future! Are you in a long-distance relationship?
Well, in any case, when you talk to him on the phone, try to get his likes and dislikes out of him. A good way to do this would be to mention your own likes and dislikes, and see where he agrees or differs. This is also a great way to gauge what you two have in common, and what you don't!
For my boyfriend's birthday, I got him a giftcard that he could use toward purchasing a new cellphone because his phone was always cutting out whenever I talked to him. I also gave him some chocolate and a little Yankee candle because I knew that he likes chocolate, and that he likes to burn a little candle in his room at night.
For Christmas, I got him some cologne and a shirt from Abercrombie and Fitch (his favorite clothing store). Recently, I bought one of his favorite movies for him on DVD because I spotted it on an endcap at the store, and I thought of him and knew that he didn't own a copy. (This was a "just because" gift that didn't correspond to any particular occasion.) All of these gifts were special to him because they were things that he really liked or needed, and I remembered what his likes were. When I gave them to him, his face lit up like a small child's on Christmas morning!
If you can find out what your boyfriend likes (ask his parents, siblings, or friends if you don't want to ask him directly) and buy accordingly, then he will feel very special, and he will appreciate your thoughtfulness. Don't sweat it too much or go all out, though; you guys have only been dating for 3 months, so a small gift would be appropriate.
Good luck!

It's never too soon to start planning...
How long have you guys been dating?
Valentine's Day is also my boyfriend and I's one-year anniversary, so it'll be quite the special occasion and will require some careful thought and planning. I'll probably get my boyfriend a nice card and some chocolate, and one or two other things. I'll also make sure to take some time out of my busy schedule to spend a few hours with him, and we'll probably go out for lunch or dinner. Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most, especially when you're both college students and you don't have a lot of money!
If your boyfriend has a good sense of humor, then he'll probably appreciate the goofy gift, but I think that you should also get him something romantic and meaningful. You know his personality and his likes and dislikes, so only you can make the call when deciding what is or isn't an appropriate gift for Valentine's Day.
Good luck and happy planning!
